Jackson's 2 year old Pictures were today!

Although the session was very trying on mommy (daddy had to work) and trying to get Jack to sit still for any amount of time was HARD! We did manage to get good pics! I have attached the best. At some points I had to bribe him with food, he actually has snacks in one of the pics. AHHH. But all in all a tiring day all around. (photo release by Sears)

TEXAS here we come!!!

So we finally got initial notification that we are moving to Texas next year. We thought we might be able to be out by Christmas and home with family but it looks like we will leave right after Christmas! So we will leave Alaska on or about the 1st of January and travel down through the states seeing family. We have to be in Texas by 28 Feb 2010. So needles to say we are excited. I had really hoped to be out of here before the snow came but no such luck. I guess I can deal with it knowing that we are moving to a much warmer climate!!!!! How exciting!

The Staples came out...

Friday we went to the doctor and they took the staples out. He said it looked good and just to watch that no hair got caught up in the scab. Jackson didn't like them coming out any better than them going in but at least it is done now. I tried to take some pics but he really doesn't want anyone touching that area- a little gun shy I guess!!

Our freezer finally broke this weekend- so we got a new one (housing brought it to us)! So Saturday afternoon was spent taking all the food out of one and putting in into another. Deciding what in the freezer couldn't be saved, etc! What fun. Our new one is smaller but has better organization inside! This one has a lower and longer handle- so Jack can open them! Yikes. We just took down all the gates but it looks like the kitchen one might need to come back.

We are also looking forward to our marathon trip in 3 weeks. Jackson and I will be going to Oregon, to NY, to MD to visit and to a wedding, then to VA to visit some family, then flying back to OR for one day- then back to AK the next day! My grandparents were nice enough to finance our big trip and we will be staying with them for one week! We are also going to get to see Alicia and Jason (friends that have moved away) and other friends from the Bel-Air area- that we haven't seen in a long time! Soon I will start laying clothes aside- which will be fun- Clothes that we don't get to wear here- at least for a few more months!!

Hoppy Easter

We had a good Easter at home with our friends the Bonin's. We have spent the past 4 years together at Easter and this will be the last year (unless we visit each other) because both of us move away this year! We did however miss our third musketeer family, the Phelps'! Here are some pics of Jackson and of the egg hunt in the basement!

Dyeing Eggs!!!

We dyed Easter Eggs tonight. Jackson had lots of fun dropping the eggs into the dye and of course it splashed (what we were trying to avoid) hehe!

We had cool Dora, Diego, Wonder Pets and Kai- lan stickers from Mimi and Poppa Ouimet!!

Jack and his creations! (Well I did some of the dyeing- especially the ones with two colors!!)

Happy Easter from the McBee family!!!!!

A run in with .....the WALL!

Today Jackson went to daycare, because I had a dentist appt and I was going to get an oil change and just have a little "quiet time". As I was getting ready to leave the dentist, Ryan called to tell me that daycare had called him and needed one of us to get there right away because they had to call an ambulance for Jack, he had hit his head. This was all the info that I got to as I sat in the parking lot of the dentist. So I had to wait and see if they were going to take him to the hospital. Ryan called back and said yes, they thought it best to go on to the ER. So I drove there ahead of them and waited. It was tough wait not knowing what had happened or how bad it was. They finally arrived and Jack came in with a white bandage around his head many times and blood all over his shirt! Yikes, It was almost too much for me! Anyways, after some numbing medicine and wrapping him up in blanket- the doc finally got 8 staples into his head along the gash.
After going back to get his stuff I finally learned that they had been dancing, Jack tripped over his on feet (which he often does) and fell into the wall corner (where two walls meet). The teacher (one of my friends) went to get him an ice pack and when she got to him she could see it was going to need more than ice!! My other friend who works the front desk had to call 911 and she said she was scared because she knew Jack and I so well!
So now as he is climbing over everything and running around, I guess no harm done but a nice scar to be had!!

A Busy Saturday

Today we went to Mush for Kids, an even that Fairbanks hosts each year to give all families something "good" to do together. They had puppies for the kids to hold and see. Jack and Ryan petted a couple, they were all shivering; not because it was 14 degrees but because there were alot of people around them. Jack and Ryan petted one for awhile and he seemed to warm up to them. (By the way we don't need another dog!)

They had sled dog rides for children over 4- they actually got to ride on a real sled with 6 or 8 dogs pulling them. We watched for awhile since Jack was too little.

But they also had small sleds for one child to stand on the back or sit on the sled. Jack rode twice!! He liked it and didn't cry- we though he might. I didn't let him stand though- I was afraid he would just let go, the sled was only attached to one dog and it was on a leash with a helper walking them around.

We came home to rest and we went back out last night to see the Fairbanks Ice Dogs Hockey semi finals (something like that) It was alot of fun and told Ryan that I wished we had started coming before this year. Ice Dogs won 7-1 and we sat right behind the penalty boxes!! It was great. Jack like to bang on the glass and yell"GO GO GO"!

Also yesterday Ryan took off Jack's front of the crib and put on a bed rail to make it a Big Boy bed! The test last night went well. He slept fine and didn't get out of the bed, like we though he might. We hope this will be an easy transition!

Re-enlistment Day!

Ryan re- enlisted today with the Air Force for 4 years and 11 months (He has been in for 5 years 1 month) so after this time he will have been in for 10 years. So we are committed until March 2014 now!!! Jackson will be 7 that year-WOW!!

The shop had a bbq lunch and I made cupcakes. Ryan was given the oath of enlistment again by Major Herndon. Here are the pics from today. Jackson and I are very proud of our husband/daddy!!!

Ryan and the Major- always kidding around!!
