Our first snow- but It's already gone!

On the 22nd- it had been raining and it turned to snow! Jackson put his boots on and we went out to catch it on our clothes mostly. The next morning all the ground was covered but not the streets. I snowed most all morning but then the sun came out and by the end of the day we had nothing. It is in the forecast again for this weekend so we will see! We are excited as we had our last "first snow" here in Alaska!!!!

Our photo session with Breanne Kessler Photography!!

Last year, I won a free photo session with one of my friends who is a photographer. After a long winter and then Breanne breaking her leg- we finally had our pictures done last week. She sent 4 pics as sneak peaks to show us some of the pictures she got that day! Here they are! I know the others will be just as good and am so excited to see them!

These photos are copyrighted, sorry guys!! :-)

No more pacy's and we are booked on the ferry

Just this past week has been exciting for us as well. We have been pacy (pacifier) free for about a week and a half. I would say we are doing 70% well. he does not ask for them anymore at bedtime or look for them in his room (he is way to smart- he though we must just be hiding them). Jackson is now waking up 2 time a night with the need to bed consoled and sat with to go back to bed- this takes anywhere from 5 min to hours..... So we have several night of straight through sleeping but no pattern yet! We are still working on that!
Also this week Ryan booked us on the Ferry out of Alaska as we start our move to Texas!!!! We officially will leave her on January 2nd 2010, and get on the ferry in Haines, Alaska on Jan 4. We will be on it until that Friday morning at 8am when we are supposed to be into Bellingham, Washington. We will drive to Mom and Dad's from there!!! We are getting excited and starting to plan and think through our move a little more!

Here are some pics from the last few weeks in no order!

Uncle Bud's(Chris) visit and our trip to Anchorage

We drove to Anchorage very early on Saturday the 22nd of August. We had a wonderful view of Denali (Mt. McKinley)!!!!!

We did quite a bit of shopping and had a nice lunch while we waited to pick up Chris at the airport! After Chris got in we ate at Outback Steakhouse which is our favorite although we don't have one up here. On Sunday we did some sightseeing and more shopping! Monday morning we got up and drove to Talkeetna- where Chris and Ryan were scheduled to take a flight seeing tour of Denali. As we approached the weather was continually cloudy and there was a slight rain. They were told that we might go up by 1pm but nothing could be determined until the weather cleared!

So instead of waiting the FIVE hours with a small child- Chris rescheduled for later on in the week!
We did stop in Denali at the Visitors Center and walked around and enjoyed all the new exhibits.

We got home that evening and Jackson was VERY happy to be out of the carseat! On the way home we stopped at a playground to run off some energy- See all the boys/kids needed it!

Chris and Ryan did go back to take their flight seeing tour the next day- Chris called early and they said the weather was beautiful there! Here are some pics- They actually saw Denali (see pics_) and landed on a glacier! They had alot of fun!!!

We had alot of fun and Jackson was very sad to see Bud leave. We can't wait to move closer so that Jackson can see family alot more often!! He has asked about Bud several times over the last few weeks!!
